Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff!

I have always loved seeing the community and opportunity that comes with international events on campus. They are moments of growth, unity, and remembrance of culture for all students. This month is Hispanic Heritage Month and I have the privilege of knowing the student in charge of the events through HASA this year! Knowing the amount of effort, dedication, and emotion he is placing into these events makes them that much more meaningful and representative of the pride our community has in the impact we are able to make within the US (and campus!) We started off this month right with a Kick-off Celebration in the Union Courtyard where students were able to enjoy hearing the Mariachi Orgullo de America, eat some delicious traditional dishes, and talk with students just like them! It was such a relaxing and endearing celebration where we were able to walk into a space with traditional decorations and incredible smells. It was a small moment of home during a tough week. There’s to the events yet to come!
